patron

Created for a week-long game jam, patron is a short game about mixing cocktails for the lonely customers of a surreal bar. The player matches the colour of the patrons’ negative emotions with the corresponding drinks. Throughout the game, special patrons will appear with more demanding orders, and it’s up to the player to soothe their emotions.

The game is entirely UI based, a first for me as I usually prefer to create 3D games. The experience was very positive though, and I learnt a lot about the process of working with UI in Unity.

The Last Door on the Left

Created in Unity as part of a week-long game jam with another collaborator. I worked as the lead gameplay designer / programmer, music composer, and helped craft the “PSX” style with a mixture of shaders and 3D art with Maya & Photoshop.

The project has accrued over 19,000 downloads on itch.io to this date, as well as being featured in a video by popular YouTuber, Markiplier.

Frozen Though They Are…

Created for a game jam with a 2 colour limit, the game is a short horror experience inspired by a reoccurring dream. The game features a heavy emphasis on the ability to throw torches around a dark environment, a system which I expanded beyond what was actually used in the final game, including the ability to burn and destroy wooden objects.

I have gotten used to scripting in C# over the last few years, and feel as though the gameplay in my games is only getting more polished with time.
